Carolyn obtained her BS degree in biomedical engineering at UC Davis in 2017. She spent the next two years developing novel genetically encoded fluorescent sensors and microfluidic devices in the biochemistry and molecular medicine department at UC Davis. Carolyn joined the Biomedical Engineering Graduate Group  in 2020 as a graduate student. She is currently  developing proximity labeling technologies to map classical and desmosomal cadherin interactions in cells.
